Gift Wrapping Ideas – Gift Bow from a magazine page
Gift Wrapping Ideas - Gift Bow from a magazine page
In gift wrap emergencies when you’ve got the present but need some wrapping, here’s an idea for turning a magazine page into a bow. There may be better ways to stick this thing together, but I used what I had on hand: staples and adhesive glue dots. Double stick tape should work, too.
Cut a magazine page lengthwise into 9 strips, 3/4″ wide. Leave 3 of the strips full length. Cut one inch off 3 of the strips. Cut two inches off 2 of the strips. Cut the last strip down to 3 1/2″ long.
Twist each strip to form a loop at both ends and staple it in the center. Shape the last, short strip into a circle and secure it with a glue dot.
Layer the 3 longest pieces on top of each other, spacing them evenly and securing each with a glue dot. Add the next two groups of pieces, doing the same. And finally, stick the loop into the center.
Use other papers, like a map of your city. Here’s Chicagoland. Anybody see your street?

Take one of the tales of the knot and make a loop. Tuck the end of it into the center knot and pull through part of the way.
Space the cords of the loop to look like the picture above. Trim the tails of the cord.
Take the abalone knot and hot glue it to the top of the gold cord. You can also use wire to adhere it to the top as well.
Gift Wrapping Ideas – Book in a Tuxedo
Try some of these interesting gift wrapping ideas when creating your perfect gift.
This packaging design is suitable for such gifts as a book, DVD, for any gift of flat shape. In one tuxedo may bewrapped several gifts. It should also be borne in mind that the gift should not be too narrow, otherwise it don’t looks nice. Exterior view of the packaging is easily changes. Choice of paper, color of buttons, bow tie, suspenders, belts, all that is limited only by your imagination and gives an opportunity to produce gift wrapping for every occasion and age. It should not choose a very thin paper, but it should hold good bend and fold.
You will need: color paper, scotch tape, scissors, ribbon (non-wired), thread, needle, multi-purpose glue (this can be substituted with double-sided tape or glue stick).
1. Take the sheet and fold it from center to the edge.
2. Turn it over and fix it with tape. Place your gift in the middle and wrap it.
3. Turn it over again. Fold both corners inward. Don’t forget to glue the buttons.
4. Cut off a strip of paper from another sheet. Fold the ends of the strip as shown at picture and fix it with glue or tape. Cut off protruding ends. Tape the collar and bow tie to the package and your gift wrapping in a form of the shirt is ready.
To make your bow first cut your ribbon (i think 4in. is a good length.) Then thread your needle. Once youve done that take your needle and weave it through the middle of the ribbon. In this case you should use same color ribbon and thread.
After, pulling the thread through the ribbon wrap the thread around the middle of the ribbon(where you pulled the needle through) and pull the needle through the center of your bow one time then cut your thread. And you have your bow.
You can continue to pack and make a tuxedo.
5. Fold a little piece about 3 cm of the top of sheet. Fold the right corner of the sheet. The third part of the sheet bend so, that it crossed the midline at 2 centimeters.
6. Fold the end of the sheet inward.
7. Another side of the sheet fold in the same way.
8. Glue the small buttons to your tuxedo and it’s done.
I hope, you enjoy these gift wrapping ideas.
Gift Wrapping Ideas – Gift Box Tutorial
Gift Wrapping Ideas - Gift Box Tutorial
Hi, everyone! A new day is comming and here are new gift wrapping ideas.
The holidays are fast approaching and with it come thoughts about gift giving. I want my packaging to be as special as the homemade goodies inside, but I also need it to be quick and easy. Time is at a premium, especially during the holidays! Here is a gift box idea that is made to fit an 8oz jelly jar and sooo much more!
Supply list:
(2) 12″ sheets of cardstock
Winter Wonderland paper pack or something similar
Black ink pen
Ribbon
Quickie Glue Pen
Glitter
2 medium large brads
Scissors
Scor-Tape or Red liner tape
Score both sides of 1 sheet of 12×12 cardstock at 4 1/2″ and 7 1/2″. (Note that the + pieces are the sides and bottom of your box and you will be cutting the 4 outside squares down to form tabs)
Cut along the score lines on 2 opposite sides, up to the first score line. Next, cut away 2 1/2″ inches of each outside square, leaving 2″ tabs as shown. (save the scraps) Trim away the inside corners of the tabs as shown. This makes assembly of the box easier.
Add adhesive to the tabs as shown. Be sure to use a strong adhesive like Scor-Tape or red liner tape.
Assemble box.
For the lid, use the second piece of 12×12 cardstock to cut a piece 5 1/8″ by 5 1/8″ square. Score all 4 sides at 1″. Cut along score lines on opposite sides, up to the first score line. Cut tabs as shown (this will give you a cleaner looking lid). Apply adhesive and assemble lid.
Set aside.
Decide on your main image, cut to fit the front of your box. Use a Quickie Glue Pen and fine glitter to add sparkle to all the snow in the image. Cut the plain accent papers so you have 3 pieces measuring 2 7/8″ by 4 3/8″. Adhere those to the other 3 sides of your box. Add ribbon to the lid if desired. You can also accent with more paper.
Cut a strip of 12″ x 1″ piece of cardstock for your handle. Add ribbon to the handle if desired. Attach handle to your box, below the lid, using 2 brads. By using brads, the handle can be moved out of the way to remove the lid.
Use some of your scraps to make a tag. Use Quickie Glue pen and glitter to add more sparkle. Attach tag to your handle.
Second gift box with different papers. The finished box measures 4 1/2″ tall by 3″ wide and 3″ deep. It will fit a bag of cookies, fudge, or any number of goodies.
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and this gift wrapping idea and you are inspired to make your own packaging!

How to make triple loop bow
1. Measure the length of one of the ribbon tails and with the right side of the ribbon on the outside, make a loop and squeeze the ribbon together. Hold it with your thumb and forefinger.
2. Make a full twist of the ribbon so the right side is facing out.
3. Make another loop toward the other side.
4. Make a slightly smaller set of loops on the top of the first set of loops. Continue to alternate the loops, right and left until you have made as many as you like.
5. To complete the bow, twist the remaining ribbon around your thumb to make the center loop. The remaining ribbon is the second tail. Adjust both tails so the ribbon is on the right side. Put a small piece of bow tying wire through the center of the top loop and twist it tightly at the back of the bow to hold all the loops together. The wire should be tight enough to hold the loops, but loose enough so you can move the loops to create a full, fluffy bow.
6. Spread out the bow loops and trim the end of the tails.
How to make a Puffy Bow
A great gift wrap bow or finishing touch to a corsage is the puffy bow. It is made by wrapping ribbon around your fingers. This gives you loops that are uniform in size.
1. Start with five or six “wraps”. To make your bow larger spread your fingers. To make it fuller add more loops.
2. After completing the wraps of ribbon, fold the loops in half.
3. Cut a “V” into each side making sure you do not cut all the way through the center.
4. Tie the bow with a coordinating narrow ribbon in the center. You can also use a fine bow tying wire to hold the center.
5. Separate the loops one by one to the right and left from the inside out. Twist each loop towards you as you pull it from the center. Do one side at a time.
6. Trim the short ends at an angle.
How to make a graduated loopy bow.
1.Make a loop leaving the tail the desired length.
2. Continue making loops gradually increasing the size of the loops until the bow is full and you have enough ribbon left over to make the remaining tail.
3. Secure the center of the bow with ribbon or floral wire.
4. Fan out the loops.
5. Cut the tails at an angle or in points to finish off the look of the bow.
How to make a loopy bow.

How to make a Tailored Bow.
The tailored bow is made by gradually decreasing the size of the loops stacked on top of each other. If you work with double sided ribbon you can make the bow with one piece of ribbon. With a single sided ribbon, the bow is made of separate loops.
Tailored Bow, using Double Sided Ribbon.
1. Fold ribbon decreasing loop size on each layer.
2. Staple all the layers together.
3. Add a length of ribbon behind loops for two tails and staple underneath loops.
4. Wrap a length of ribbon around center of bow and glue ends together.

Tailored Bow, using Single Sided ribbon.
1. Cut three lengths of ribbon. Make a circle with each length overlapping the ends 1″
2. Stack the loops as shown and staple all them together
3. Wrap a length of ribbon around the center of the bow, overlap the ends and glue them together.
4. Optional tail: Glue pointed tails to back of center loop.
How to make a Layered Bow.
A layered bow is two (or many) bows layered on top of each other and held together with the wires from the topmost bow. The wires on the other bows are cut close and the top bow has a center loop. The bottom bow is the largest and has the longest tails.
1. Measure the length of ribbon for the first tail. Hold the ribbon with your thumb and forefinger.
2. With the right side of the ribbon facing out, make a loop one side. (8″ of ribbon makes a 4″ loop)
3. Make a full twist of the ribbon so the right side of the ribbon is still facing out and make a loop toward the other side.
4. Continue alternating loops right and left, fully twisting the ribbon as you go, until you have made the required number of loops on each side. Put florist wire around the center and twist it tightly at the back of the bow. The wire should be tight enough so the loops move independently and can be adjusted to make a full, fluffy bow.
5. To make a center loop, twist the remaining ribbon around your thumb before securing the center with wire. Adjust the tail so the right side of the ribbon is facing out like the first tail. Put a wire through the center of the loop and twist it tightly at the back.
6. Wire the bows together.

Gift Wrapping Ideas – Bamboo table mat Jewelry Box.
Hi, all! Let me show you something interesting. Yes, it is not usual gift wrapping, BUT! This jewelry box can be used as gift and as packing for your gift at the same time. I call it double gift.
Even if you think it may be difficult to make your own homemade jewelry box, it really is not, especially if you are a creative individual who enjoys working with your hands. You can make your own jewelry box out of the various materials you have on hand.
Ok, let’s begin.
- Bamboo table mat;
- Paperboard;
- Thread and needle;
- Tissue for inside and outside;
- Glue gun;
- Crystals any size and shape.
Take the paperboard and cut out 2 side parts of it. Glue or sew bamboo table mat and it 2 side parts with tissue.
Glue or sew finished parts of jewelry box.
Of cource, you are not to be expected to make a perfect box when you are first beginning, so be patient with yourself, while keeping in mind that it does take time and practice to create your perfect jewelry box.
Make a hole for a loop or your can use magnetic lock.
Glue crystals on lid of box randomly or in pattern. You may come up with your own designs or not, however there are no real rules when it comes to designing your own jewelry box.
Thank you for your attention, I hope you enjoy it.
